Update: The fundraising goal for WangWang's bench has been reached! Thank you to all who contributed.
Please note that any additional donations will go toward Central Park’s bench maintenance, so animal lovers will have a place to sit.
Wangwang was a gentle and affectionate stray dog who trusted people and was loved by those who knew her. She was also a devoted mother who cared for her puppies every day, protecting them and doing everything she could to help them grow.
On June 28, 2026, in Jieyang, Guangdong, Wangwang and her puppies were killed in an unprovoked act of cruelty involving five minors. Their deaths deeply saddened people around the world and brought greater attention to the suffering of animals who cannot speak for themselves.
The Earth does not belong to humans alone. Every life deserves dignity, respect, and compassion, regardless of whether it has a home or a voice. A compassionate society should not remain indifferent when vulnerable lives are harmed. It should work to prevent cruelty and protect those who cannot protect themselves.
To honor Wangwang, her puppies, and all animals whose suffering too often goes unseen, we hope to dedicate a memorial bench in Central Park.
The bench will bear the following inscription:
For Wangwang, and for every voiceless soul.
Justice begins when compassion becomes law.
This bench will be more than a memorial. It will stand as a lasting reminder that every life matters, that compassion must lead to action, and that the voiceless deserve both protection and justice.
Please donate and share this page. Together, we can turn compassion into action.
