“Well an old stump is good for sitting and resting. Come, Boy, sit down. Sit down and rest.”” - Shel Silverstein, The Giving Tree
For many years our father, Mark Tucker, was searching for a home. A place where he felt at peace. A gathering place for his family and his friends to join together in laughter. The one place where he could be surrounded by those who loved him. A place where he belonged. That place was in and on Central Park.
The best way to honor him is to give back to Central Park and adopt the benches facing his apartment on west 85th street. For over 30 years, he would sit on those benches with his friends, colleagues, kids, grandkids, and the many strangers he loved getting to know and helping through their struggles. For years to come, anyone can go to those benches, face his building, and remember the good times they shared with him.
With love and appreciation,
