Adopt a Bench in memory of Nick Jesdanun

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

We, the family and friends of Nick Jesdanun, would like to dedicate a bench in Central Park in his memory.

In his 51 years of life, Nick ran an astounding 83 marathons (one on each of the seven continents!), but his hometown race, The New York City Marathon, was always the closest to his heart. Last year, Nick completed his 15th New York City Marathon, earning himself a guaranteed entry for life. Sadly, we lost him on April 2, 2020 to the Coronavirus, and he did not live to enjoy that honor.

Nick ran up to 3,000 miles per year - so many of those miles through Central Park! Many of his running friends joke that he was "The Mayor of Central Park" as people could count on seeing him there all the time, whether it was commuting to work, training for the next marathon, or leading a group run.

Because Central Park was the scene of so much joy, friendship, and personal achievement for Nick, we would love for him to always have his little spot in the park. We are trying to secure a bench that is along the route of the NYC Marathon so he can cheer on his friends and continue to be a part of his favorite day in New York City.

Thank you for your support!
