Spurring employment

     Central Park’s reputation as one of the world’s most celebrated public spaces continually attracts outside vendors and organizations that spur economic activity in New York City. Companies doing business in and around these 843 acres generated $47.2 million in 2007.

      Consider that in 2007, the cluster of businesses, events and activities linked to Central Park produced a combined $395 million in economic activity and 3,780 full-time jobs.

     The Central Park Conservancy, which is responsible for Central Park’s attractions, generated about $43.5 million and 480 full-time jobs.
