Revenue Impacts

     Central Park is an important tax-generator for New York, producing significant city funds through visitor spending, property taxes, and operations of the Central Park Conservancy and park-related business.

     When it comes to real property taxes, the Central Park Effect is responsible for an impressive $535.4 million in 2007 or 15.5 percent of the total value of taxes due that year.

     Conservancy operations, park concessions, and other businesses accounted for a combined $6.22 million in city tax revenues in 2007, with visitor spending drawing an estimated $3.8 million. City concession and permit fees collected in Central Park added up to $9.8 million.
